Pre-Survey

I designed and sent out our pre-survey last night.  Nate and I had written the questions at the TLLP conference in May.  At the conference we also made some decisions about how to record our experience and decided on Google Apps.  We decided this partly, because this is a platform supported and encouraged by the TDSB.

So, I created the survey as a Google Form and included the link in the documents section of our blog.  It was fun to do.  I enjoyed choosing the theme and I was really excited to get some results.  They came in almost immediately!  As of this afternoon, we already had 23 responses!  (OK, two were Nate and mine.)  I like being able to view the responses in a spreadsheet form and the pie charts will clearly display the results of this survey.

At last we can begin!

I'm so excited!  Now that the strike action is over, we can finally get to work on our project.  We did some window shopping over the summer, looking at loads of different books to get an idea of what is available.

During the course of my Guidance AQ over the summer, I also came across some possible teaching and learning resources that may be useful as we begin to create our lesson and unit plans.

So now comes the fun part!

First though, to gain some data on our units effectiveness, I need to create a survey for our staff to complete.  It will be a simple affair.  Two short questions about teacher's comfort and knowledge in dealing with students' mental health issues.  We will give the same short survey after teacher's have used the units to gauge their effectiveness.

We have designed a potential planning schedule when the three of us can get together.
